Pretty Good

I've been there on three occasions, and the service is pretty good. Prior to what others said, it wasn't really clearly marked what was vegan and what wasn't, but the staff were helpful. Soy chicken nuggets were delicious, the but the first time I went, I ate some avocado chickpea burger, and the patty was really tiny, and I was somewhat disappointed. The nuggets and the Acai bowl made up for it. I had a brown rice salad the second time, and it was delicious! It seems a little hit or miss, but I think the staff is friendly, and I would continue to try and go and find the good stuff they have to offer :) The location is super conveniently near Hiroo station. Price is pretty okay, considering the food, and portion is just the right size. (Note: granola has milk!)

Pros: Good staff, Delicious nuggets, Conveinent

Cons: Hit or miss, Not marked well

Yummy (+Yoga)

I ate there today and enjoyed an avocado green veggie burger for 950 Yen. Fantastic. Lots of avocado, greens, chickpea creme topped with a delicious mustard sauce. It came with french fries (including the odd sweet potato fry) that were salty and delicious. The size of the order was absolutely filling. There's also a set meal with burger + drink for 1.200 Yen.

While eating I noticed a sign advertising their own morning Yoga class. It's everyday between 9.30 - 10.30, costs around 2.160 Yen and includes mat rental, a juice and an acai bowl afterwards. Sounds like quite a good deal.

Pros: Big selection of breakfast + entrees, Delicious, Atmospheric

Comfort Food at a Homey Place

They offered so many comfort food that was so good! The soy nuggets are especially wonderful. Their smoothies are refreshing.

Would have loved to try the burgers next but they weren't gluten free. The nuggets weren't gluten-free either but I was so hungry.

LOVED this place!

We just ate lunch here and it was fabulous. My husband got the tempeh teriyaki burger with drink set. I got a kale smoothie with chia seeds in it. It had a strong key lime flavor. It was great. It is a moderate priced cafe and was very unique. Everything was hand crafted and extremely delicious. We loved it! They were great about marking which items were vegan and which items ha me a little dairy.

Pros: lots of veggie burger options, close to the train station

Tasty burgers in cute neighbourhood :-)

Island Veggie is down a side street - I walked passed it twice, before noticing the sign pointing towards the side street (see pic uploaded). It's a nice little place, with 8 different veggie burgers on offer, as well as acai bowls, smoothies and juices. I had the miso BBQ burger with fries and it was a pretty good and substantial veggie burger. The place itself is in a cute neighbourhood, nice for walking around with 2 other organic/veg-friendly places I know of - Trueberry smoothie place is on the same little street and organic & whole foods store Natural Mart is in Hiroo, too...so it's a nice place to indulge in some veg-friendly fast food and explore the cute shops :)

Great Burgers

Found this place by accident and luckily enough, we were delighted by the food. Great soy based burgers for a decent price!

Cool place, great burgers!

Island Veggie in Hiro-o is a cool little Hawaiian burger joint with a casual, laid-back vibe. They do a selection of soy meat burgers in a variety of flavours (terryaki, BBQ etc.) with lots of lovely salad topping. Burgers come with small portion of fries, bit soggy, but still good. They also do soy 'chicken' nuggets. I've tried several of the burgers and the nuggets, and they are truly delicious. When you've had your fill of Japanese food, this place is a nice change. They are also open for breakfast, and make the most delicious acai berry bowls, with granola, fruit and honey. Last week I had a veggie BLT sandwich for breakfast, with a soy latte, soooo good. Oh, and their shakes & smoothies are also yummy. Can you tell I like this place?

They have a loyalty card too, you get a stamp for every 500 yen you spend, and you either get a free mug or money off. Very inexpensive, good comfort food, and easy to find. Take the Hibya subway line to Hiro-o station and exit at gate 2. Turn right when you exit onto the street. Take your first right and walk along the street for a few minutes. There is a tiny side street on your right, there should be a sandwich board advertising Island Veggie. I walked past it the first time, the street is so unobtrusive, so just keep your eyes open. By the way, Hiro-o is a great area for wandering around in, nice shops etc.

Pros: Great food, Nice atmosphere, Inexpensive

Cons: Close at 7pm

Best veggie burger in Tokyo!

For me, Island veggie had the most delicious veggie burgers that I had in Tokyo! The menu is interesting, with several kinds of burgers (even Japanese style ones), and my favourite was one avocado burger!
As other people have mentioned, the french fries weren't great. The store also closes quite early, so getting a late dinner there is out of the question. But I think the burgers make up for that!

Pros: Great burgers!, Nice staff, Good atmosphere

Cons: Closes too early for a fastfood joint, French fries weren't great

Decent veggie fast food

Nice food and casual atmosphere. Burgers and "chicken" nuggets we good. Fries are house made and kinda limp and soft, but tasty.

Tried only one of the blended drinks. It was ok. Nothing special but good.

Decent value as well.

Location is a dirty alleyway so the view isn't that great, but it's not a deal breaker.

Pros: Friendly Service , Good Food

Cons: Location

queues out the door! a great burger.

Great fast burgers, very popular. We had a burger and homemade lemonade and sat outside. Really nice place. There is a beautiful park a few minutes down the road which would be nice for a picnic.

Good burgers

If you are looking for good choice of veg burgers with french fries, this place is great, though I would probably like to get a bit more chips with my burger! Never tried their smoothies but they look gorgeous. Atmosphere is calm and friendly, suitable to take some rest or even for a quick and cheap lunch. As other reviewers said, if you take a side dish and a dessert or drink, this could almost double the bill, but overall prices are fine for Tokyo.

Pros: Tasty Burgers

Good Food in a Good Atmosphere

As the previous reviewer said, this place serves good, simple food, and prices are reasonable (under 1000 Yen for a burger and chips, up to double that if you add a delicious smoothie and another food item, which is good for Tokyo). Staff are friendly. Note that the burger buns contain honey, but no dairy or egg (if you don't eat honey here it's probably best to say so, whatever you are ordering). Items which contain dairy are clearly labelled 'LV' (lacto-veg). The muesli and acai items are healthy and delicious. As a bonus this place is within easy walking distance to Natural Mart (on HC) and also National Azuba, which while far from vegetarian, sells some great vegan items, including 'Amys' from the US and even Scheese from Scotland. So come here, enjoy the food and the atmosphere, and stock up on groceries afterwards. If coming from Hiroo Station it's a few steps down a small alley opposite starbucks.

Pros: simple, delicious food, friendly staff , good location for grocery shopping

Nice little Cafe to hang out

Nice place to hang out, Veg Hawaiian theme Cafe. I wish I was living in this neighborhood or close to it so I could enjoy this Cafe more often.

It is relaxed atmosphere, simple food, good smoothies and juice, and a very nice staff.

You can get good price deals lunch, otherwise prices are OK though I would like them to be cheaper.

A good place to bring a friends/some friends to have a coffee and hang out. Or just on your own... have a rest, eat a bite, read a bit, and relax.

Pros: Food, Atmostphere, Staff

Cons: Could be cheaper :)
