Best hummus ever

Was recommended this by a mate. Usually not one to visit a restaurant that’s only famous for something as innocuous as hummus but this was incredible! Fresh, simple and good service

Pros: Fully vegetarian , Tasty

Cons: Hard to find, seedy area

Well used by locals. Simple, decent fair

I always make at least one visit here when I'm in Jerusalem. The service is quick, and they cope with pilgrims/tourists promptly and courteously. There's no menu up as far as I've ever seen, but if you ask for falafel in pitta, you'll be fine. I've never known what to expect with my falafel. There's always hummous and salad, bit sometimes chips are squeezed in their too! Reasonable price. Always fresh. I recommend it for the hungry traveller.

Good hummus but a very low hygiene standarts

Abu Shukri is probably a wellknown hummus place in old city. Not only tourists but also local are coming here to eat. They serve good hummus and falafel, nothing fancy but delish. The salad was just okay, i ate way to better versions of arabic salads in Israel.

The thing is, they have very low hygiene standarts in this restaurant. The huge opened bean boxes were just around the WC door. The restroom was in a bad conduction -which is not unusual in Jerusalem, but the food must be kept in a clean place!

Pros: cheap and local

Cons: serious hygiene problems

Good but expensive

Very good falafel, decent hummus - but the prices are very high. Good place if you are in an emergency, but take it outside of the city walls if you want decently priced falafel.

Pros: Falafel, Location

Cons: Expensive

OMG what a falafels

Its unique falafels are just incredible and they serve it together with all fresh veggies! I would go for 4 extra falafels, ask them - if you arrive sit down a be noticed so they will come and ask what would u like? There is only one option, hummus with falafels! :)

Btw hummus was not my favourite sadly, but the falafels were the best I tried! ;)

Great falafel and hummus

I came here with a couple of colleagues whilst we explored Jerusalem on our day off. We had falafel, pitta and hummus with salads which was simple but absolutely delicious - one of the best meals I had during my stay in Israel/Palestine. The only downside was the birds kept in tiny cages in the restaurant.

Pros: Great food, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Birds kept in tiny cages

Good Arabic Fast Food

This is a great little spot to get a quick, local meal in the Old City. The staff is friendly. The hummus is unique. It tastes eggy? They assured me it didn't have any eggs in it. Maybe it's dill. You should try it and tell me what you think.

Pros: Fast, Good , Unique Hummus

best hummus in the old city!

no frills, inexpensive, delicious. it's the kind of place you want to stop by to get food on the way while you happen to be in the old city - not a sit down restaurant.

Pros: inexpensive
