It seems better before... - Edit
When we arrived, the waiter explained us that they serve petiscos (portuguese tapas) at night. I enquired about vegan options, he didn't really know and went to the kitchen. He came back saying the hummus was vegan and they also could make a special dish : pasta with sautéed vegetables and tofu.
Read moreThe hummus was basically just a chickpea mush. Good but not hummus.
The pasta dish was ok, a little bit bland, not a tapas at all because it was a huge plate. It felt a bit simple compared to the dishes on the menu.
The ambiance was a little bit weird, it felt like they wanted to make the place fancy but the TV with football game was so loud.

Triple-check what you order, they don’t know what vegan means! - Edit
We walked in the place, having found it here on Happy Cow, and were told they did indeed have one vegan option.
Read moreWe explained that we were vegan and ordered it (lentil lasagna) plus some bread as appetizer, and the waitress offered us the soup of the day —- a fish soup. We thought it was strange so went to check again if the lasagna had any cheese in it. AND IT HAD. We cancelled the order and since they didn’t have anything else there that was vegan, we left.
They did apologize but if we hadn’t decided to triple-check, we would have received a vegetarian dish that we wouldn’t be able to eat. So beware if you try to eat there, you’ll have to go through the whole list of what you do and don’t eat.

Vegan waitress! - Edit
Another meat and fish restaurant but this time with 3 regular vegan dishes plus a special every day. The waitress who served us is also vegan.
Read moreOur choice was tofu with vegetables, sautéed seitan with vegetables or chick pea curry. We had the seitan, which was excellent. A stir fry of small chucks of seitan plus a whole host of vegetables cut thinly, moistened with soya cream. There may also have been a few nuts in there. It was very tasty and a decent quantity.
They didn’t have any vegan puddings available, though could have cobbled together some fresh fruit with soya cream and something else I’ve forgotten. We didn’t feel the need sufficiently but did suggest they consider adding some to the menu.
Very happy to return here.
Pros: Vegan waitress, Choice of vegan dishes, Good value food
Cons: No puddings!

Delicious! - Edit
I got the veggie stir fry and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and creamy it was! Our waiter was really helpful and I was happy to spend €8 on such a delicious meal. I would definitely recommend as vegan options aren’t easy to find in Tomar. Perfect location, right in the heart of the city.

My favorite place - Edit
We have eaten a few times here. Beautiful place with friendly helpful staff. Ive had wok vegetables with tofu and cashew nuts. Then blackbean hummus with roasted vegetables. Both were tasty, filling and freshly made. Im going back soon to try more. Its a busy place and you need to book a table, twice we have been too late.

Vegans beware - Edit
We first asked if they had vegan options to which they informed us “yes.” We waited a long time for the food and once it arrived I had a bite of my tofu and pasta dish only to realize something wasn’t vegan. We asked a different waiter who told us the pastas had egg in them. The person who informed us of the vegan options said that “some vegans eat the egg noodles,” to which we had to clarify what “vegan” actually means. I ended up getting an allergic reaction to the egg. We had high hopes from the other reviews here but I would highly caution any vegans stopping by here to verify their server actually knows what their dietary restrictions entail.

Good veggie and vegan options - Edit
We went for Sunday lunch June 2019. The waiter spoke good English and was on the ball about vegan and veggie options. Not loads of choice, but what was on offer was very good, and lots of it! Good price, good food and helpful staff.

Helpful staff and several vegan options - Edit
We visited here as we couldn’t find any fully vegan restaurants in the area. We were pleasantly surprised that there were several vegan options here and the waiter was helpful, spoke English and understood veganism. There were three vegan options including one of the specials which was a chickpea burger with vegetable rice which was nice. A good option for veggie food if you are in the area😄
