Cons: Absolutamente nada

Good breakfast options

I ordered the avocado toast and it was good. It had avocado, mushrooms, tomato, vegan egg, and cilantro. A bit pricey, but it was a large portion.

Overrated

I was unfortunately quite disappointed with this place after all of the great reviews it had.

I’ll start with the positives. The food was tasty enough, the portions were really large, the menu has a decent choice of inventive dishes.

That being said, everything is wildly overpriced. The prices of the brunch dishes are the kind of prices I expect to pay in London, but not in Porto. Also, €14 for a milkshake is obscene. I also can’t understand paying €7 for a vanilla latte. I honestly was shocked given I’ve had some absolutely outstanding meals in other fully vegan establishments in Porto for far less, and I wasn’t that impressed here.

In addition, service was pretty slow and our drinks were forgotten till we asked the waiter. And there were a lot of flies inside.

I do wonder if just getting their pastries to take away would be a good shout, but I would not come back to eat in.

I totally agree and I am glad that someone is finally mentioning the price! I was in shock. €15 for a pastry and €14 euros for a milkshake? I couldn’t believe my eyes… their sister branch in comparison sells their milkshakes for €4.50 and pastries for 2.50.. So it seems to be possible

Best vegan restaurant that I have been to

A Padoca is the best vegan place that we have ever been to - and we have been vegan for many years. The Eggs benedict and Paleo were amazing (perfect balance of flavors and on top everything most probably made from scratch) and very filling so we have asked for pastels de nata, pistachio croissant and savory big mack and ricotta & spinach pockets as a take away. The place is very cozy and tasteful, the people who work there are extremely nice and helpful. We are definitely recommending this place to all our friends - it is worth coming to Porto only for eating here.

Pros: 1. The food: balanced flavors, interesting&healthy, 2. The concept, 3. Service: The people working there super nice

Nice breakfast

Very cute place, has some seating indoors, a sit down menu in addition to the pastries you can get to go.

House bread with garlic spread and strawberry jam - wonderful, but not at the same time!

Plain croissant - somewhere in between cake and croissant, pretty good.

Avocado Toast and Ricotta Toast were both good, but not more than that. Both came garnished with peanuts, which was not mentioned on the menu.

Expensive and disappointing

This was such a let down. The cappuccino tasted like the coffee was a bit burned. The eggs Benedict was more like a dessert. The ‘eggs’ were cold, as they seem to be made of cream that needs to be kept cold to keep the rounded shape. The ‘hollandaise sauce’ was good but it had peanuts in it. The bread was very sweet. So there was nothing savory about it, the eggs were cold and the whole thing was sweet like a dessert.
The pastry area looked very nice.
Everything is on the expensive side.

So many options

Edit: careful if you have a nut allergy or dislike walnuts, as they used them for garnish for everything

They had so many things to choose from: loads of pastries, a selection of chocolates, a brunch menu… the portions were very big, perhaps too big, as only one of us managed to finish their breakfast. I was excited to try their vegan eggs but I must admit I didn’t love them. I found eggs benedict better than the eggs used in the shakshuka but they tasted more like cream than eggs to me. Also, it was quite pricy compared to other places I’ve had breakfast at in Portugal. Nevertheless, I think it’s worth a visit

Pros: Good selection, Sweets look amazing, Unique

Cons: Pricy, especially some drinks, Didn’t really like the ‘eggs’, Probably much food waste due to large portions

Don't miss it!

Lovely vegan bakery offering a range of pastries, savoury calzones and a small menu of breakfast/ brunch items.
We had the eggplant parmegiana calzone which had so much filling and tasted lovely. The bread was quite sweet which might be a bit much if you're not into a sweet dough, but none the less, was still great.
The pasta del Nata's were amazing, a bit more runny than others I tried but I actually preferred this.
We only went here on our last day so disappointed I didn't try the croissants which looked incredible.

Best vegan spot in porto

I want to move to Porto just so I can eat their croissants everyday. Being a vegan who just completed the Camino Di Santiago, you can imagine how happy I am to find vegan pastries. The staff are so kind and helpful and the food is just... We'll come see for yourself

Pros: Croissant , Pastries , Everything else

A must go to cafe in Porto

Best salad I’ve had in Portugal! I’d rate it 5 stars but it was a little salty for my taste. My companion enjoyed the ‘Big Mac’ pastry. Service was friendly and good, but slow. Lots of baked goods.

Extraordinary! A pastry heaven!

Literally incredible. A vegan’s dream! Huge pastries (savoury and sweet), amazing breakfasts, chocolates, cookies, milkshakes, juices etc.

Big shoutout to the ‘Eggs Benedict’ which featured these insane vegan ‘boiled eggs’ and a yummy sauce. Visited twice in total and we also had chocolate/Nutella/Bueno croissants, a Napoleão pastry (flaky layered pastry) and some savoury pastries called the calzoni and big mac.

The staff were super friendly and I’m going to miss this place a lot! Thank you for a wonderful experience ❤️
