Stopped in for Dim Sum - Edit
We stopped in for Dim Sum and ordered a handful of different dishes. We didn't wait long until they were placed in front of us. The staff were friendly and congenial. Quite a few items on the menu were not vegan which was a disappointment and a bit perplexing as I have had many of the same or similar items at other Chinese restaurants and they were vegan. I've been to many many vegetarian Chinese restaurants before and usually the menu turns out to be 98% vegan and 2% non-vegan, but this place had a much higher percentage of non-vegan menu items. Anyway, the food was pretty good, we had no complaints. Perhaps we'll stop by for a full meal next time.

A favourite - Edit
Vancouver and Richmond have their share of great vegetarian Asian restaurants, but this ones seems to be a notch above the rest. The dishes are interesting and very well made, the decor is very pleasant, and service is prompt. Highly recommended!

Huge variety of Asian meals for vegans - Edit
It’s located within 10 min drive from Vancouver International Airport, right next to a complex with Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, and near a shopping mall. We ate here twice during our trip to Vancouver, and it exceeded our expectations. They offer a broad selection of traditional vegetarian Asian food: stir-fry, dim-sum, hot pot, noodle bowls, rice bowls, etc. Half of the items were vegan, and they were clearly marked on the menu. You can select a regular portion or a combo. Combos are cheaper, but the entrée is smaller and it comes with a cup of soup, a bowl of rice, and a small tray of appetizers. Our favorites were braised tofu on hot plate, grilled nori, and chocolate fondue. The place is small and décor is basic. Clientele included office workers, couples, families, a small group of teenage girls, and a group of Buddhist monks.

Our favourite Asian restaurant! - Edit
We found 4 Stones during an overnight stay in the area, and we've been back every chance we get during our trips from Vancouver Island to the Interior, and it's always worth the extra 45 minutes of driving it adds to our trip. The actual restaurant is pretty unimpressive (as someone else mentioned), but the food is so good. We always end up ordering way too much because we want to try everything. Our favourite dish right now is the Kung Pao faux meat (I think they call it "veggie treasure"), and we always get the fried mushrooms as well. The menu is all vegetarian with lots of clearly marked vegan options, and we've never felt like we were running out of new vegan dishes to try. We can't wait until our next visit!

Artistry of meat substitutes - Edit
with only a couple more restaurants to try, 4 stones is undoubtedly my vote for the best vegetarian in the greater vancouver area. a small place in a small strip-mally location, the ambience would lead you to believe this was another run-of-the mill asian restaurant. opening the menu you will see a ridiculous amount of options (100 or more?), but what you really came here for was the fake meat, right? i don't think you will believe me that this "meat" is like no other in terms of art and sheer craftsmanship... which is why you have to try it for yourself. for instance, a beef soup has chunks of meat not only with a colour and flavour of beef, but with tofu strips interwoven to make the meat actually look like beef on the bone. similarly, the lemon chicken is fried goodness wrapped around "bone" asparagus. the red fermented cutlet is amazing, the deep fried oysters are unbelievable, and pretty much everything is made with care and class. how many asian resztaurants have you been to where the garnish includes fried crispy basil? exactly--none, whether or not vegetarian. this is really world-class vegetarian fare, and you will find yourself going back again and again, wanting to work your way through the entire menu! note that you will probably want to park in one of the public lots just east of the restaurant as there is almost never any space in the restaurant lot.
