Hmm - Edit
Cold, bland, and pricey. The owner is super friendly though, so I’ll support just for her 👍

Local favorite! - Edit
Wanda, the owner, is a doll! I have friends in the area who teach at a nearby school and this seems to be a favorite spot to gorge on a delicious lunch. Wanda greets everyone and sometimes stops for a little chat. Leave a little time for your order since it does take a while, esp if you order the eggplant which they make upon ordering, but it's well worth it.
Read moreThe portions are large and there's a whole section of vegetarian and vegan options. The staff is knowledgeable about veganism and will ask if you don't want a certain sauce etc if you order one of the vegan sandwiches.
Right now they're open for pickups but also have a few tables outside of you want to sit to stuff yourself😄yumminess!
Pros: Lots of veggie options, Delicious, Large portions

"Don't Panic, It's Organic!" - Edit
2nd Healthy Eatery is my favorite sandwich shop in Los Angeles! Wanda, the owner, is very welcoming and her daughter is super cool too. I don't even live in the area but I've been with friends roughly a dozen times. The price is about on par or slightly higher than other sandwich shops, but the portions are humongous, more than enough to make up for it, enough to fill you for two meals or to feed two people if you want room for eating later in the day. So far, I've enjoyed everything I've gotten here and I haven't even been since the menu expanded a bit. The vegan eggplant sandwich is my favorite!
Read moreAs of this review, my last visit hasn't been in months, but the last I knew, their squaw and sourdough breads are vegan. I always opt for sourdough. I'm not sure which, if any, other breads are suitable, but the staff keeps us in mind so be sure to mention that you're vegan and they'll know what to do! They have vegan cheese, vegan mayo, vegan sriracha, and other vegan sauces! Most vegetarian sandwiches can be made vegan by omitting dairy cheese and subbing honey mustard for something else if necessary. If you order something that comes with honey mustard by default, the staff will usually ask whether or not you'd like it, likely because a lot of people who call themselves vegan consume honey and it can confuse people who aren't actually vegan themselves, but I've never had them assume; they've never failed to ask. If you modify a sandwich that comes with honey mustard by default and somehow they don't ask, just make sure you say something!
Menu items I've tried:
Vegan Eggplant Sandwich - 5/5 it's sooo good, I've become boring and predictable to the point that Wanda commented on it (if the strawberry chocolate hummus sandwich is vegan which I believe it is, I want to try it!)
Roasted Red Pepper Sandwich (sub out cheese) - 4.75/5 great flavor
Protein Power - 4.75/5 if you love chickpeas, order this one!
Crispy Tofu Sandwich - 4.5/5 good texture, good flavor, could use a little something extra
Tomato Basil Soup - 5/5 I went during the holiday season with a friend and Wanda gave us some to sample and it's so simple yet so good! I wasn't expecting it, but it's good enough that I bought it the next time I went. It's their only soup option for vegans, but I'm not sure you'd want any other soup anyway!
If HappyCow didn't cap ratings for less-than-fully-vegan places to 4 stars, I would give 2nd Healthy Eatery 5 stars for the food, staff, and overall feeling.

Pros: Delicious food, huge and I mean HUGE portions, Friendly staff, excellent rapport with regulars, Plenty of seating, located away from heavy traffic
Cons: Isn't a fully-vegan place, serves animal products, Line can get backed up, maybe avoid if in a rush, Business hours are somewhat limited
