Hidden treasure - Edit
A small cosy lit staircase leads you to the small sunny inner garden of the modern looking restaurant. Greeted politely by the staff that brings you to a table with a view on the open kitchen with focused stoic-looking cooks, you prepare yourself for a sophisticated lunch/dinner experience. Expecting a fine dining menu from the context of the atmosphere, you'll find yourself surprised that they offer vegan translations of traditional Portugese comfort food, and for a very affordable price!
Read moreWe took the Portugese Traditional Starters board because we were unable to choose between all the starters. I've eaten nor cuttlefish, nor octopus, nor clams in all my life, but the mushroom substitutes for it were very tasy. Also the plantbased chorizo and alheira sausage were very rich in flavour and texture. As a main course we shared the Islander: smokey alheira, a potato pancake, creamy spinach and mushroom consomme. Even though it wasn't very attractively plated nor unique in my opinion, it was a very good and comforting dish. The Creme Brulee and peanut chocolate pie were amazing.
As a person who never tried the original dishes these plantbased dishes were inspired from and preffering vegetable inspired food, I was not amazed but nevertheless pretty happy with the experience. Being able to order comforting and affordable dishes in a sophisticated looking restaurant with very professional staff is a combination you don't often see. A bit hidden from the busy street you feel like you have discovered a hidden treasure in the heart of the city. Definitely recommended.

Amazing veganised portuguese classics - Edit
Wow! I’m so glad I stumbled across this place. It was so amazing to get to try vegan versions of some Portuguese classic dishes. The menu was extensive, imaginative, and everything I chose was absolutely delicious! I had 3 courses and a large bottle of sparkling water and my total came to €30 - such fantastic value for money. That creme brulee is to die for!!!!

I’ve never seen a fancy Cesar salad until now. - Edit
Quick, friendly, helpful, and delicious, good price as well!
Read more26 Vegan Project quickly made our Portugal trip much more exciting. We are food travellers and sometimes you get areas with nothing vegan, or just very “uninspired” vegan food. 26 Vegan Food Project is the opposite. We went four times in our short stay in Portugal since there wasn’t much else that held up to their standards of food.
I got to try some Portuguese tradition meals, turned vegan. Defenetly not my favourite but I am still happy I got to try it! The Cesar salad was what kept us coming back, it was amazing. The Tofu main was great, and the soups were delicious and a great size for the price.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a guy I don’t remember his name but when we first arrived he told us the kitchen was closed but helped us find a different place to eat, which happened to be his favorite spot. It helped us a lot since it was late and we were starving. So instead of just ushering us out, they showed us kindness and were very helpful. Earned our respect. 🫡
I highly recommend this place. It’s a great place for people of all walks of life. I brought my non-vegan family here and they loved it. Eat plants 🌱
Pros: Cesar salad, Beautiful environment, comfortable seating. , Friendly Staff
Cons: Closing time is later than kitchen closing time., Not a lot of gluten free options for mains. , The daily specials sometimes don’t change.

Fancy experience 🌱 - Edit
Top notch and attentive servers. 💁♂️
Read more🧀 Cheese Board (17€)
Fantastic variety of vegan cheeses. Crazy what can be made of cashews. Bit more bread would have been great
🍞🍅 Francesinha (15€)
First time trying this dish and it taste like a homemade dish from grandma. Perfect with the homemade chips. Would order this again.
🌱 Seitan Steak (14€)
Tasty steak and not though at all. Perfect with the mustard sauce and the excellent spinach dip. Wedges were nothing special but good.
🍨🍓 Skillets Crumble (6€)
Did not convince unfortunately! The ice scoop was melting immediately im the hot berry cream. The overall dish was too sweet in my personal opinion.
Great would have been if the berry cream is more acid as a counterpart to the sweet ice cream, crumble and sauce topping. If all would be served separately one could overcome the immediate melting.
🍫🥜 Peanut & Chocolate Pie (4,5€)
Basically a giant Snickers. Taste exactly the same but is very filling after starter and main.. consider this when ordering. Taste was great

Good food & nice staff - Edit
The food was very delicious and the staff really nice. The biggest downside was the small size of the place which was the crammed with many tables and thus pretty loud.

One of the best in Lisbon - Edit
Food was absolutely amazing. We had the Portugese starter board which was an amazing way to try local dishes. Ravioli and sea soup were delish as well. Very nice atmosphere and very busy when we visited on a weeknight, recommended a booking.

A must try if you’re in Lisbon - Edit
Can recommend the seitan steak. Wasn’t as fussed about the sharer starter, would maybe try the cheeseboard instead. They had a few plant-based ‘seafood’ options that were just different kinds of mushrooms, which is why I gave it 4* rather than 5*. It didn’t feel very creative for a vegan restaurant. That being said, it’s still worth a visit. It is one of the more expensive places in Lisbon, costing us 72 euro in total, but that was with a starter and 2x glasses of wine each.

Horrible place! - Edit
Just at the table next to me two members of staff argued with a stubborn lady customer over items on the invoice for about ten minutes in an irate way. Why could they not just give in for everybody‘s peace? They must have lost a dozen customers who will never come again…

Great vegan food, typical Portuguese dishes - Edit
Stumbled upon this a bit by accident. So glad we found it as we really wanted some Portuguese dishes but vegan, not just veggie burgers or junk food. Beautifully presented food, great flavours and a well designed menu. The starter sharing board allowed us to try lots of different dishes.

Good but not excellent - Edit
Came here without a reservation and the team fit us in for an hour regardless, which we appreciated a lot! There is a lot to choose from on the menu so we went with the starter sample plate that included different types of “fysh” , chorizo and croquettes, and the sardines. I was really excited about this but it was a little disappointing. Most of the fysh dishes were made from mushrooms and tasted quite similar. The bread that came with it was very stale.
Read moreFor the main we chose another mushroom dish, which was excellent, but I guess we were a little shroomed out 😉
All in all, I think it would be better to choose two mains and only one “fysh” starter to make the most of it.
We were stuffed enough not to be able to fit dessert in.
Atmosphere was nice and staff very attentive. Would come back and try some other dishes.
Pros: Vibe, Choice, Staff
Cons: Similar taste of starters

Nice here! - Edit
The vegan cheeses were all excellent! However some more bread could have been added to match the cheese quantity, and maybe some olives or something else for the price.

Finally able to try authentic portuguese cuisine! - Edit
It was an amazing experience and we loved everything we ordered. I only wish we could have tried more. The mushrooms did well mimicking the seafood texture (and if I’m honest, I like their texture better) and the dishes were flavourful and lovely. The presentation was also amazing. The only thing I didn’t like were the pictures of women in the men’s toilet. While I do think this kind of pictures is appropriate for women’s toilets, seeing them in the men’s felt like a bit of a perpetuation of the culture of sexualisation of women’s bodies. Why not add some pictures of men in the mens?

You get the feeling you’re in a fancy place, but the prices are still very reasonable. Kind staff and veganized Portuguese dishes. I took a bifana which maybe wasn’t the best choice (was okay, but not so special). I think there were better things on the menu.

Very nice and pleasant place with friendly people and a classy vibe. The food was very good but honestly the seitan steak with fried potatoes was a bit plain and could’ve used more flavour. Still a very good plant-based dining experience.
