Muy - Edit
A tapas restaurant that has a full vegetarian and a vegan menu. Tried some smaller plates and the vegetable paella.
Read moreAs the paella takes a few more mins to cook with the tapas taking only a few minutes, ordered the patatas bravas - which is quite mild and tastes like light harissa, the breads which were sourdough and had the olive tapenade, then the paella.
Wished hadn't got the tapas plates as starters as the paella was enormous and really didn't take long to come out. It was saffron and cumin tasting with small and very de-spiced roast green jalapenos with some sliced peppers and button mushrooms. Not strong tasting but loads of it.
All in all, it was pretty ok and reasonable, especially if you'd like to share. They're keen for you to keep ordering, but in a rare turn of events I was stuffed and couldn't eat any more.
Worth a try and not too expensive.
Pros: Spanish, Paella generous , Quick
Cons: Mild tasting

Tasty but expensive - Edit
We were lucky to get an outside seat at 5.45pm on a Saturday - everywhere was heaving, full, and needed a reservation.
Read more2Taps was serving a reduced tapas menu for outside diners but it had plenty of vegan choices.
We had 5 tapas - patatas bravas (delicious), meatballs (a little bland), empanada (basically one fat spring roll filled with refried beans - nice salad with it), mushrooms (tasty but oily), and padrón peppers (amazing but tiny portion).
Service was quick and friendly, but we paid almost £40 for our food and two tonic waters. For something that's not quite a full meal we did feel this was overpriced.
Pros: Plenty of choice, Good service
Cons: Expensive

Finally some good tapas. - Edit
Vegan tapas is often underwhelming but this was great. The patatas bravas and sundried tomato dip were phenomenal. Would like to see some more meat alts on the menu however!

Disappointing and bland - Edit
The restaurant itself is well decorated, warm and welcoming. Staff are friendly and do their best to help (although couldn't tell me whether the wine in the sangria is vegan).
Read more2Taps do have a separate vegan menu and we sampled large amounts of this. However, the majority was bland and disappointing.
- bread basket is literally toasted, sliced white bread (8 small triangles for £5.5)
- multiple dishes have warmed, unseasoned silken tofu on top which adds little to the dish (one is portobello mushrooms with watery red pepper hummus with small cubes of silken tofu on top, 3 for £4.5)
- crisp green veg is seared peas, green beans, and french beans with same watery hummus. No salt or seasoning in sight.
The meal saved only by the patatas bravas which were tasty (although unseasoned), accompanied by vegan garlic aioli.
Pros: Vegan options , Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Bland, Not value for money, No vegan marks for alcohol

Great selection of vegan tapas - Edit
I had always wanted to try 2Taps (being a big fan of Spanish food) but never thought they had anything suitable for vegans and didn't see anything on their website. I planned to go with friends one evening and wrote to them a day in advance asking if there was anything they could make vegan. They got back to me very quickly and attached a vegan menu.
Read moreI got the patatas bravas, pan fried greens and tofu "halloumi". All were really good and my non-vegan friend also really enjoyed them. Staff were really friendly and accommodating and offered me vegan icecream with berries and chambord for dessert. Will definitely be back soon for more patatas bravas and to try what else they have to offer!
Pros: Vegan menu, Staff
