Tasty local vegan food - Edit
We have 4 people and order 5 dishes. All of them are very nice. The owner was a hotel chef before. She cooked very well. Some of the dishes are spicy so be careful.
Read moreThere was rice and big noodles (Sen Yai) for the base, and 6-7 side dishes to choose from.
The owner is very friendly. We asked her how she cooked those vegan (Jay) food so well. She shared all her techniques with us.
We also got a chance to experience local tradition where people give food to the monk(s) who walk around and do alms round. The monk walked past just when we arrived at the stall.
Note that the shop closes at 2pm but some days it closes earlier (say as 12:30) if the food sold out.
Pros: Authentic local food, Delicious, Friendly owner
Cons: Close earlier on some days

Best Jay Cafe in Bangtao.!! - Edit
Absolutely loved what they had on offer, a smaller Cafe & selection than most Jay places (6 options) and no Noodle Soup available but the Quality of the Khao Gaeng (Curry & Rice) was some of the best i’ve ever had at a Jay Cafe! Lots of vegetables, not greasy and the fresh flavours that Thai Cuisine is famous for! If you like Jay Food or just want to experience genuine local Thai food, I highly recommend this place, I went nearly everyday during my Holiday in Bangtao 🙏🏻☺️ #Veganuary

Cheap and tasty local vegan restaurant - Edit
Lots of veggies, mock meats and tofu to choose from and three curries. The one I selected was super hot so beware (I love spicy food). Due to language barriers it was impossible to confirm opening times, Google says 0630-1430 but I rode past a couple of times early afternoon and they were already closed. I would suggest getting there in the morning to be safe.

Bubble tofu - Edit
I really like coming to 108 . They close before 4 so get there for lunch . I also recommend bringing your own containers and having a picnic of some sort at the beach since it’s on the way to surin.
Read moreI’ve tried several dishes here and love that it’s so affordable . Typically order 2- 3 dishes for myself and if i have left overs take it in my own container.
Recommend the bubble tofu, morning glory and a Thai tea

Will miss this place - Edit
Went there more than 5 times, everything was tasty and authentic. You could also feel that the food are prepared with love & care :) Green curry, Tom kha Hed, pad Thai, pineapple fried rice are our favorites. If you’re in northern Phuket, make sure trying out!

Small, easy, cheap, yummy - Edit
Everything we got here was good, minus the mango frappe, which tasted like iced water, no mango detectable lol. It is not open until late as the description states, it closes around 3-4.
Read moreIt's a street vendor restaurant that's got a little dingy feel to it, but it's authentic Thai and is one of the few restaurant options in this region. I'd suggest looking at staying somewhere closer to more restaurants like patong.
Pros: Cheap, Yummy, Authentic
Cons: Dingy, Unreliable hours, Hit or miss with some meals

Absolutely Incredible Food!!! - Edit
Vegetarian food is difficult to find in Kamala. Drive to this place and you will not be disappointed. The food is delicious and healthy tasting. Most dishes are 40 and 50 baht. Three people ate for 175. Free water. Highly recommend pineapple green curry (very spicy) and the sweet and sour pineapple tofu. Closed Sundays. Small yellow sign in front of restaurant reads "Vegetarian" in red type. A bit difficult to find, but like the other member wrote, look for the Red Tuna restaurant and it's just to the right of it.

Cons: A little out of the way, I don't live next to this restaurant.

Great, honest venue - Edit
Had lunch here 9 April 2016. It was superb! Very basic looking restaurant with the best food. Prices are around 40 baht per dish (cheap!) and the food is very tasty.

We love Kun Na! - Edit
We spent a month in Bang Tao, and despite the famous vegetarian festival, few restaurants accommodate vegans. Most everything you are likely to order vegetarian is made with shrimp paste and fish sauce. And then we found Kun Na. What a delightful, wonderful soul and advocate for veganism. Kun Na's Kitchen is difficult to find - look for the Red Tuna sign, then just to the right - and they close at 3PM, but the facility is very clean - we saw the dining area, the kitchen, the toilets, the food storage - and the food is terrific, all vegan - no egg, shrimp paste, fish sauce. She offers all the Thai dishes plus smoothies and coconuts. The clientele is mostly locals, the prices are ridiculously cheap, the atmosphere is casual - shorts, tee shirts, sandals. The tom kha soup and the green curry are amazing, the best we had in Thailand.

Cons: Hard to find, Closes at 3PM, No AC
