really nice place! - Edit
insanely convenient location, right in playa's centre, still calm and rather cosy when sitting inside.
Read moremenu is very nice and vegan dishes are marked as such/there are hints how to veganize some. also, tofu options with some dishes (and that's a hard to find ingredient in central america).
i had a rice bowl with tofu with soy sauce seasoning that was absolutely delicious!! also, it was way too much - i ate half of it later that day.
my friend had pasta which was alright, even though i've had better.
their drinks menu is exceptional! and glasses are huge! they offer coconut milk (also almond if i remember correctly) so just ask for it with coffee etc.
service wasn't the fastest but not below average in mexico ;)
Pros: options (also for drinks!!), taste, atmosphere

Average - Edit
The name would make you believe there are plenty of veg*an options, although not really the case. Been there a couple of times over the years and everything from the choice, the service, the quality of food,...is average. No big complaints but no recommendations neither...simply average

service is a miss - Edit
The menu has some nice vegetarian and vegan options. And the food was good. But they did have some problems getting the order right. Ordered without cheese, and when I started eating, found there was cheese inside. And when asking the waiter about it, he said it did not have cheese (as if he was in the kitchen and made it) - but then when I showed him, he did take it back and the kitchen remade it without cheese. Then was charged for a different dish than what I ordered (one that was more expensive), and they refused to recognize that. So overall, the service is a miss, but the food was good.

Several Vegan Options - Edit
100% natural is a charming tree shaded patio restaurant on the bustling 5th Avenue street of Playa it is in a major tourist area so everyone speaks fluent english along with spanish. They serve meat (mostly fish) but also have a good variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Their fresh juices and smoothies are absolutely amazing (I recommend the cabo smoothie YUM!). They do have several options that are easily made vegan but they add queso as garnish (cheese) on top of the guacamole unless you ask for "no queso" but it's not a staple of the dish at all and can be easily omitted to make the dish vegan. The Taco's Vegetariano are very good and vegan (ask for no queso) but my favorite has to be the Tofusio (again ask for no queso).

No options for Vegans - Edit
Would love to have tried it but all the vegetarian options have cheese or other dairy products in it.
Read morePros: Nice variety
Cons: No vegan options

If you go again ask for "no queso" meaning no cheese. There are several vegan friendly dishes that don't have cheese or dairy in them but they do use queso as a garnish on the guacamole but it's easily omitted!

Briggitte, thanks normally I would do this but there wouldn't be much left to the dish without the cheese as it was the main ingredient. :)

Great Food, Amazing Juices - Edit
Visited on 2nd June 2012. My girlfriend and I both had the seitan tacos and probably could of got away with ordering just one, the portions are huge. They were more than happy to wrap up what we couldn't manage and was still great at tea time. The juices are amazing and again are massive. Nice jungle garden atmosphere and a respite from the slightly mental street. Relatively expensive by Mexican standards but well worth every peso.

Awesome place, loved it! - Edit
A very welcome meal after 5 days of boring food from our all-inclusive resort.
Read moreMy girlfriend is a vegan and we were very happy to find this place.
Vegetarian quesadillias were delicious, the fruit drinks we had also were amazing. Lots of good options of vegans.
If you enjoy vegetarian/vegan food and are anywhere near Playa, check this place out.
Beautifully decorated and a nice escape from the 5th Ave vendor craziness on the street.
Pros: Vegan food, Great drinks / health drinks / shakes, Beautifully decorated

Good! - Edit
What a welcome relief from resort food. Nice, fresh food at a good price. Good portions too. I felt the food was pretty authentic too, just with tofu and stuff. They had meat in some dished though, so be careful.
Read moreThere is a cool waterfall in the courtyard, so its really relaxing in that area, seems so far away from the hustle of avenida 5.
They accept credit card, and they spoke English.
Pros: Healthy food, Fresh Ingredients, Authentic Flavors

Like a mexican, veg friendly Applebees... - Edit
Absolutely gorgeous, jungle like interior which blows away anything we had to eat here. The food was good but ultimately unmemorable in a homogeneous chain restaurant kind of way (which it is). We had tacos with a very nicely prepared seitan inside. Worth a stop if you're on la quinta.
