Fry cubed tofu until golden brown. Make sure it is crispy but tender. Drain and set aside.
Saute garlic until slightly brown and onions until it turns translucent. Add the fried tofu and keep mixing and turning over. Note: The term pigar pigar is in the local dialect (Pangasinan) which means to keep turning over.
Add some more oil to the pan and then the chilies and cabbage until it is tender.
Add turmeric, a splash of soy sauce or tamari, vinegar and pepper as seasoning. Keep turning until fully cooked.
Serve and enjoy.
