Teri's Homemade Enchilada Sauce

    Instructions

    Heat over medium heat until bubbly and the spices are cooked through, about 15 minutes. Stir constantly.
    Taste and adjust the sweetener and salt until the flavors really pop.
    This sauce is good over bean burritos, tamales, enchiladas or over anything requiring a red Mexican sauce.

    Ingredients

    1 32 oz can of Hunt's No-Salt Tomato Sauce, or brand of choice
    1.5 tablespoon chili powder
    2 teaspoon ground cumin
    2 teaspoon onion granules
    2 teaspoon garlic granules
    1 teaspoon ground pepper
    1 small can hatch chilis
    Salt, to taste
    Maple syrup or other sweetener, to taste
