Peel 4 large carrots and then slice into wide, thin strips using a vegetable peeler.
Mix 3 cups water, 1-2 cups soy sauce (to taste, more soy=saltier) and 1 tablespoon powdered smoke. Stir until powder is dissolved.
In a watertight container, marinade carrots overnight in liquid.
Remove carrots from liquid, save liquid to repeat process.
Put carrots on a baking tray with a generous helping of oil, and roast at 200C for 10 minutes.
