Sakusaku's profile
Kushikatsu Sakusaku opened as a sister shop to the bakery "Lapian," which was established in Esaka in1999 . You may wonder why a bakery started a kushikatsu (deep-fried skewer) shop. The reason is that Lapian, known for its additive-free bread, had long been struggling with bread waste. To address this issue and reduce waste, we decided to repurpose leftover bread into breadcrumbs for kushikatsu. Now, we have completely eliminated bread waste, and our kushikatsu has become so popular that it is even offered as a hometown tax return gift for Suita City. Additionally, we incorporate okara, a byproduct of tofu, into the batter to create a healthier version of kushikatsu. For vegan customers, they provide seasonal vegetable skewers, which can be enjoyed with special salts like matcha salt or curry salt.
