There’s not a lot of commercial vegan restaurants in my area, so I do a lot of cooking at home, but I love vegan cuisine and the lifestyle. I like how it’s opened up a whole creative world of vegetable, grain and legume cooking, along with new spices and surprising sauces. I grew up somewhat subsistence, harvesting our moose and salmon. But I’m very glad to leave all that behind - it had become problematic for me, killing game meat and fish. It’s been very freeing to not have to deal with that type of eating lifestyle. I’ve been vegan since 2018.
