I'm a D.C. writer, working on my own writing project. I have has lived in Washington, D.C. for more than three decades, sharing it all with my husband throughout it all. I still miss the sea, especially since I grew up in coastal Maine. Perhaps that is why I have to get back to the ocean whenever possible. I love the mountains and have even learned to love the desert as well. Still, there is something magical about the sea. (Although D.C. cherry blossoms are magical!)
