Hi Limmey, Thanks so much for your feedback, I will follow up with the manager of Riccarton as we definitely do 'keep tabs on that stuff'. Riccarton often stock the Peanut Butter Cups, Energy Balls, Pumpkin Kumara Pattie, Pumpkin & Kumara Soup, Raw Salted Caramel Slice and the Banana Loaf - all which are Vegan. I'm sorry the staff weren't aware of which products were vegan to point this out to you. I'm sure Ali (the Manager of Riccarton) will be most disappointed as she is a big advocate for making sure there are options for those with dietary requirements. What time did you visit the store? - It would be good to know that if their Vegan products are selling out earlier in the day - they may need to be ordering more to make sure there are these options in the evening. The cross contamination sign is due to the fact that the food is sitting in the cabinet and made in the same kitchen as non-vegan/vegetarian/dairy-free/egg-free/gluten-free/nut-free items. We take all care and there are procedures in place to try and ensure there is no cross-contamination however we can not 100% guarantee that there would never be traces of other ingredients and we'd like to be upfront about this fact! It would be difficult, if not impossible, for restaurants and cafes to guarantee there aren't traces if they have items containing any of the above - similar to the disclaimer on food packaging "May contain traces of...".
