About being a human pet, well pet play in the BDSM community is well known and loved, but consent truly is the key. Many animals could happily choose to not have to search for food or shelter again and let a human take care of them, but usually they do so for a season. People who live near forests often see the same animal yearly. They can take your home as a safe space to birth children for example or come when they can’t find food elsewhere. Also in the cold winters, the take shelter under porches, but they leave when the season ends and return to their free lives til next winter. That’s not unheard of and I think if we want to build relationships with animals where we care for them, we can and they absolutely have the ability to consent. Not a pet.
