Thank you for this thoughtful review. The Sunshine Grille has some items that are specifically vegan while others can be adapted to vegans. For example we sell a cheesesteak hoagie (vg). The "vg" symbol means that the item can be adapted for vegans and it is not a vegan item per se. The challenge is having properly trained wait staff who understand our menu options, are informed enough to ask clients relevant questions and finally translate that information to our POS system. It's doable but not easy which is why I think most restaurants keep to on side of the fence or the other. This does not excuse our mistake. I just want to explain that we have been servicing vegans in our catering business for the past 8 years and we do understand that the vegan diet excludes all food derived from animals. A further complication is the labor shortage where we are forced to hire and engage servers who aren't trained and are therefore learning as they go. This is not desirable but necessary in the current circumstances.
