ThreeRiversMarket

Hi Brittany, Thank you for your kind words about our great vegetarian and vegan selection, organic produce, and extensive bulk selection. We want everyone to have a positive and enjoyable experience in our store each and every time they visit. Started in 1981, Three Rivers Market is Tennessee’s pioneering food co-op. We are a local, not-for-profit business owned by over 9,000 Tennesseans that exists to create and nourish a healthier environment, healthier people, and a healthier community. If you are paying $25 per year, you are on the 10 Year Payment Plan towards full co-ownership in the cooperative. Unlike a yearly fee or dues, your payments are purchases of equity in the business and come with the rights, responsibilities, and benefits of ownership. Thank you for embarking on this journey with us! If you are unhappy with your decision, we can repurchase your equity. Just ask for a Repurchase Application at the Customer Service Desk. Our produce department sells only organically-grown produce. Our organic celery is priced at $1.69/lb. Based on the average weight per bunch (or bundle), that is around $2.11/bunch. Because bunches of celery can vary in size, a per-bunch price is often unfair so we price celery by the pound instead. In addition to providing a fair price, per pound pricing can also reduce food waste – allowing customers to select a small bunch or even a few stalks if that is all they need. Whole Foods sells both organic and conventional celery. We checked prices this week and found their current price on organic celery is $2.99/bunch or around $2.39/pound based on the average weight per bunch. Only their conventional celery was under $2.00/bunch. We offer the Matrix Aromatherapy AromaLocket. We haven’t found this exact same product offered on Amazon. Marin Wooley, our Member & Customer Services Manager, will be contacting you later this week to address the issue you raise of being “double charged”. I am aware of only one instance when our cashier accidentally scanned an item twice, and our records show a correction was made immediately afterwards. Feel free to contact me at j.arthur@threeriversmarket.coop if you would like to discuss any of these concerns in more depth.
