Follow Your Heart
21825 Sherman Way (at Topanga Canyon Blvd)
Canoga Park, California 91303
818-348-3240
Follow Your Heart is one of a kind. It is an all vegetarian grocery with a vegetarian cafe attached. They arguably have the best breakfast and brunch in all of Los Angeles and they open early! Not to mention they produce some of our favorites products (hello Vegenaise!). If you are ever in LA it’s worth the drive over the hill to try their pancakes and tofu-based eggless omelettes.
Wayward Cafe
5253 University Way NE (at 55th St)
Seattle, Washington 98105
206-524-0204
The breakfast food at Wayward is like the greasy spoon, Waffle House/Denny’s, kind of place. And that’s not a bad thing, sometimes I need my greasy food fix. It’s located in the University district making it a popular spot for students and locals. They make vegan versions of the dishes you used to order from those greasy diners; Monte Cristo, Suns over Seattle (vegan version of Moons over My Hammy at Denny’s), Cheeze Biscuits or Scramble, tofu omelets! Get your homestyle American breakfast fix here.
Bouldin Creek Coffee House & Cafe
1900 South First
Austin, Texas 78704
512-416-1601
Bouldin has the best tofu scramble I’ve had across the world. Not sure how they do it (it’s a trade secret). Bouldin offers delicious wholesome food at the best prices in town. I always stop by for a breakfast plate and a delicious chai latte made with almond milk every time I go to Austin. It’s not to be missed! Lunch and dinner is great too but I really adore their breakfast and funky vibe.
Sugar Plum Vegan Cafe
2315 K St
Sacramento, California 95816
916-706-3302
Sugar Plum is home to the Sunday “Bottomless Brunch Plate” for $12. Keep coming back for more and they will give it to you! Nothing makes me more happy that endless plates of breakfast food. It includes things like Tofu Frittata, Gluten Free Breakfast Sandwich, Bagels & Cream Cheese, Hempy Blueberry Pancakes, Buttermilk Biscuits and Country Gravy with fair trade coffee and teas. Do we need to say more?
Pure Vida Bakery & Bystro
1236 Western Ave (at Oakey)
Las Vegas, Nevada 89102
702-722-0108
Pure Vida is the new kid of the block, proudly taking the medal for the first 100% vegan restaurant to open in Las Vegas. It’s getting rave reviews from the locals and from vegans visiting the strip from all over the world. I love me some vegan waffles, which are rare and hard to come by anywhere. The food is very creative and inventive here.
