If you are planning a trip to Marrakesh this guide could be useful, as it can be a bit difficult to find vegan options in the city. Most of the people speak English, French and Spanish, so the language barrier shouldn’t be a problem. However, it is a problem finding vegan meals — especially if you go to local bars or restaurants because they won’t know what “vegan” means. Thankfully, with HappyCow I don’t need to worry about finding nice vegan restaurants everywhere I go.
Marrakech Henna Art Café – It is located in the heart of the Marrakesh Medina. Don’t miss their henna designs if you decide to visit their restaurant! You can get a high quality tattoo for around 5 euros. Several vegan and vegetarians options are available in the menu. Price is approximately 15 euros for two persons.
Le Salama – Colonial style, hence the impression of being transported into a scene from the movie Casablanca. Atmosphere is really nice, and happy hour is all evening. They have numerous vegan and gluten-free options. It’s a bit expensive, around 30-35 euros per couple.
Earth Cafe – The only vegetarian restaurant. Half of the menu is vegan. This is the only restaurant with modern dishes and it is famous for its vegan-friendly innovative cuisine. You can find noodles, salads, tacos and a lot of vegetables.
Nomad – By far the best food in Marrakesh. Good typical Moroccan food with vegetarian and vegan options. Located in the heart of the Medina in Marrakesh, the terrace is an oasis from the soul. The food comes quick and is beautifully presented. Smoothies are around 2-3 euros. The avocado, orange and date smoothie is delicious! Between 5-9 euros per person.
Cafe Des Epices – Really good cheap menu with some vegan and vegetarian options. They also serve fruit juices. There is a tomato gazpacho, vegan sandwiches, fries, typical Moroccan soup, salads and lots of bread.
Le jardin – Really good food, not too many options. Vegan brochettes are delicious with 4 sauces (ask before if they are 100% vegan because one of them is not). A bit expensive at $12-15 in total. Very nice place and romantic.
Atay Cafe Food – Vegetarian & vegan options are available. It has nice terraces and is an overall cute place. Tajine is huge – beautiful views from the terrace. Everything is under 10 euros.
