My vegan journeys have taken me all over the world. I spent over ten years leading trips in south and central America, Europe and Africa before switching from general adventure travel over to serving vegan travelers in 2012 when I set up my own business.
Having worked hard over the past three years to promote the availability of a lifestyle in which people, animals and the environment are not exploited, and after many years on the road, I began to appreciate the full impact that adventure travel has on people’s lives–not just those traveling, but also the people employed via the adventure travel industry.
Here’s the exciting thing: industry and economy will always react to demand. So let’s get out there and create the demand for more vegan products and services! Let’s ensure our money is becoming part of an expanding, conscious economy! And let’s make self care a priority by keeping ourselves motivated and inspired to create change.
1. ADVENTURE
Adventure is believing in something you can’t see. This is how change happens.
2. COMPASSION
Choose compassion, back it with action, and create the demand.
3. RESPECT
Learn how to respect the environment–we need to be in it.
4. CREATE
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, create it.
5. TRUST
Ignore the evidence, trust fully, and imagine something bigger.
One of the key areas of my business is to continue to identify ways in which I can make a difference, serve vegan travelers and promote the availability of a lifestyle in which people, animals and the environment are not exploited, one holiday at a time.
After two years of running guided vegan adventure holidays in Europe and Latin America, and now at the request of so many people, I’ve created Self Guided Vegan Adventure Holidays.
These adventure holidays are specifically designed to help vegan travelers make the most of their time and resources whilst remaining completely independent and flexible.
My mission is to work with local businesses, and for each new self guided adventure trip created, I’ll offer a new vegan-friendly optional excursion in order to create the demand. This gives compassionate travelers the opportunity to get involved with local communities, ensuring their money becomes part of a conscious economy whilst raising awareness of the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.
