Pretoria, South Africa

This animal farm sanctuary is open to the public on the weekends! 5. Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary
California, USA

On a 40-acre ranch between LA and San Francisco, this sanctuary gives refuge to mistreated farm animals from across California. Founded by activist Zoe Rosenberg when she was only 11 years old, this place has evolved to become one of the largest sanctuaries on the West Coast. With a full time veterinarian and a skilled animal care team, Happy Hen is one of the few sanctuaries in the US that accepts animals in need of urgent care and long-term rehabilitation. 7. Friend Farm Animal Sanctuary

Established in 1994, this sanctuary is located across 10 acres in rural Kent and runs on public donations.
