All vegan, all delicious! - Edit
I was visiting Boston and stopped by for a falafel dog. 100% awesome. I don't live there so I haven't returned, but the entire menu looked great--I would try every one of their signature bowls if I were in the eastern time zone!

Food: I love the concept of make your own bowl versus some signature bowl option. The food tastes very healthy, fresh and great variety of flavors. We especially loved the Cassie bowl.

Good for a fast food place - Edit
Boston lacks great vegan restaurants. Having lived here for years before relocating to Europe- I’m always astounded by the lack of great alternatives when it comes to vegan food, especially for such an international city. However, WHP is your go to place in Boston although I wouldn’t do it everyday as I find the dishes to be heavily added with sauces that may not be as healthy. I wouldn’t necessarily call it “healthy” I guess it all depends on what you classify as healthy. Because it’s all veggies and grains doesn’t mean it’s “healthy.” They sauces are too much- not sure what sugar, salt and fat content they may have. Perhaps I adapted to the highest European vegan food standards.

Whole heart makes really nice combinations of Whole Foods (no faux meats or anything that doesn’t look like it’s original form). They have many creative bowls that run the gamut of flavor and style. They are filling and you can be creative in the create your own section. They also have some tasty “street food” items, especially the falafel dog! It’s a nice atmosphere with great customer service. I feel like you could go here so many times and not have the same thing twice. Enjoy!

Pretty good - Edit
The place specializes in grain bowls and salads. If that is not your thing, you probably won't like it. I have had a few meals there and been a bit underwhelmed, but I think I have ordered the wrong thing for me. Their falafel is quite tasty, so I will stick with that next time. I have not gotten to go to the Sunday brunch, though, and the menu for that looks excellent.

I go here at least twice a week if not more. It’s so delicious. I can never get bored. I usually go for the Cassie - the sauce is amazing.

Simple and delicious - Edit
It’s pretty basic but I’ll take this over the small portion hippy food served at Life Alive down the street. Thee decor is a little sterile, as is the trend in food these days, but you will come out of whole heart having had a pretty much perfectly nutritionally balanced meal while also never leaving hungry. The flavors are excellent too. I usually go with the Cassie with Miso BBQ tofu added and street corn if I’m feeling extra hungry. Not a bargain compared to what you could make at home but I think I would fall over if I heard what the rent was for a place this size on Mass Ave. near MIT.

I've now had a number of their signature bowls. Each one has been delicious and filling. Even when I go in and the line is up to the door I'm able to get my food quickly. Would recommend!

Fresh and flavorful! - Edit
Whole Heart serves fresh and flavorful vegan food. On our first visit, my partner and I both had a hard time choosing from all the options. We each ordered from the bowls menu and were so happy with both choices. My partner also ordered a falafel dog just because he couldn't resist, which was also delicious, but we walked out totally stuffed! Staff was super friendly. Can't wait to go back.

We want Root. - Edit
Root was the best vegan restaurant in Boston. This place is so out of control bad by comparison I can't stand it. It's a salad bar. That's all it is. What idiot can't make a salad at home? You can call it whatever you want. This is cold vegetables in a bowl and it's junk.
Read moreWhy Root went away, and turned into this I'll never understand. They had a great menu, great service, and business for days. This is what happens when you get a little success as a restaurant owner and think you invented food. Hard pass en perpetuum.

So good and healthy - Edit
Had a delicious lunch there. So healthy. One of the reviews said it just a salad bar but the bowls are way more than just salad. Great complementary ingredients that make up there bowls. Great for a quick, healthy, flavorful vegan meal.

This small restaurant has the best vegan bowls I’ve ever had. They have a few fresh healthy beverages that are always the best. Their side dishes are sooooo good too. For desert FuMu’s non dairy ice cream is next door with many flavors and toppings

Fresh Vegan, a MUST - Edit
Great food! Only thing lacking was actually the service.
Read moreFirst tried Whole Heart Provisions at Boston Calling Music Festival where I was borderline obsessed with the seared avocado and the 2 bowls they offered there. Didn't realize they specialize in the veggie bowls and have some street food on the side and drinks too (matcha lemonade anyone? Something I'll be trying in the future.
I was feeling the street food so I ordered the Falafel Dog. When asking about the Seasame Shishitos, I mentioned i'm terrible with spice, to which my order taker said they weren't terribly spicy. To play it safe, I went with the brussels sprouts. Only AFTER I had finished my meal, painfully, and sweating a good bit along the way, did the same employee mention that the sprouts were hotter than the shishitos...
That information would have been MUCH more helpful before I painfully ate my meal.
Luckily, I was able to calm down my tastebuds with some FoMū next door.
Overall, a fantastic place for food. But it goes a long way to have an employee actually present for your questions and comments to help, especially when it's your first time there. Take note.
Pros: Great menu, FoMū (vegan ice cream) right next door :)
Cons: Staff wasn't as helpful as they could have been

bowls done right - Edit
Whole Heart Provisions knows how to combine flavors and textures to get the perfect bite. I got the Seoul Style bowl and opted to add BBQ miso tofu for an extra $2. Every single bite was packed with flavor and the crunchy sesame seeds mixed with the creamy sauce and loads of veggies was truly an experience for my mouth! I can't wait to visit again and try more menu items. Plus their drink selection is impressive with kombucha on tap or various fountain juice blends. The watermelon beet with jalapeño was particularly interesting.

Excellent Lunch Stop! - Edit
My 8-year-old son and I (both vegan) are visiting from Israel, and relying on Happy Cow to survive. We were thrilled to find this adorable place, especially as they let you create your own bowls. I went with the "Mission" and was extremely pleased. The ingredient options are endless and very tasty, and the staff are so friendly. If I lived in Allston, I'd eat here all the time!

Great taste and great value - Edit
This is a small but well run restaurant. You can make your own bowl or get one of the suggested combinations on the menu. The bowls are nutritious, tasty and colorful. There are also changing daily specials for juice and baked goods. There is currently a special float where you can get fomu ice cream with kombucha. The best bowl is The Miso.

Wow! You have to visit! - Edit
I heard about this place near Grasshopper and decided to check it out. Small in size, but big on taste. Menu has some bowls to choose from and then you choose the base like marinated kale or arugula or quinoa and rice pilaf or you can make your own. I had the Miso with tofu and seriously - so incredibly good. The food feels rich and decadent but is so good for you. I'm definitely going to be a regular here. The staff is helpful, patient, and so nice, too.

Mix and match - Edit
Whole Heart Provisions offers a number of bowls where you can mix and match ingredients. We had the Seoul Bowl with pilaf and kale and the Mission Bowl with jasmine rice and kale.
Read moreThe concept here is pretty simple (mix and match ingredients in bowls), but the food is really well done and the flavors come together nicely. We also got two sides, sesame shishitos and brussels, both of which were tasty. I'm keen to try the seared avocado next time I'm in the area.
Although everything was good, my enthusiasm is a bit tempered since I am still mourning the loss of Root, the vegan joint that previously occupied this building. It will take a bit more pizzazz for WHP to fill the shoes of its predecessor - I'm hoping that with a few more visits I'll warm up to WHP like I did to Root.
Pros: Healthy, flavorful

Delicious all-vegan restaurant - Edit
I came here on Thursday night for dinner, and again this morning to try out the Sunday brunch. The main menu offers a variety of really yummy food bowls that you can mix and match however you want. A healthy, fast, tasty meal. The Sunday brunch was a real feast. Two of us wound up eating 4 of the 6 main items, we just wanted to try it all because everything tasted so good. The grilled avocado taco had a great texture and was spiced just right. Pancakes, well, as a vegan I always appreciate when I can get a pancake and these were prepared with just the right amount of chewyness. The huevos rancheros came with a fresh salsa that offset the scramble and black beans very nicely. And the porridge was a bit hit. We'll be back, often!
