Very friendly and helpful

It was a bit of a trek to get to, but we were made very welcome, despite arriving before they were open. Helpfully went through the menu to help us choose what was vegan and the food was good. We waited in the park and got pizzas take away. Macrobiotic meant no tomatoes on the pizza, which I thought was very interesting to try.

Pros: friendly staff, interesting food

Perfect Meals

Enjoy a meal either in the pleasant restaurant or in a tent in the front of the restaurant. There is a daily plate, of perfect harmony of organic grains, beans, and vegetables for 8 Euros. You can also have any number of side dishes, pastries, and pizzas. On Tuesdays and Fridays fish can be had. Alici, a small sardine-sized fish that was marinated was offered.

Pros: healthy cuisine, good value, excellent food

Cons: not near my house

Worth the trip!

This meal was the highlight of our day. It is a bit of a journey from the main part of Rome, but it's definitely worth it.

We're vegan and they do serve some fish items, but that is the only non-vegan items on the menu. The sampler plate came with soup, an immense amount of food, delicious tea, and dessert. Plus, since we came at the end of the lunch hour, they gave us some complimentary appetizers! The food was all delicious, and I was really impressed with the wide range of flavors and textures. The leftovers were our dinner as well.

I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The description says it has simple decor, but I thought it was really nice. It evoked a rustic country log cabin, but very sophisticated at the same time, with all the waiters in bowties, and huge windows letting in the light. It felt like a real community hang-out for the local health-conscious crowd, and a refreshing side trip from the touristy parts of Rome. Highly recommended!

New location open!

This place has a new location open in the University neighborhood on the East side of Termini. Kind of near Arancia Blu. Cafeteria style, they had 3-4 main dishes to choose from. The servers, inexplicably dressed like old time soda jerks, were very helpful and spoke English. Also, a huge dessert case full of vegan goodies! The desserts were made with ingredients I'm not used to in vegan desserts: more use of nuts instead of soy. Very good, highly recommended!

Pros: Very helpful staff, Healthy, Great desserts!

Cons: Not enough variety

Awesome people

We stopped by after they had closed (and it took us a long time to get there, too!), but the staff did all they could to accommodate us anyway. They didn't have any hot food ready yet, but they served us wonderful desserts and tea. We discussed the macrobiotic society that runs the restaurant and learned a lot about the movement in Italy.

Pros: People, Quality

Cons: Check hours before heading out

Great!!

This is as proper Macro restaurant following all our principle guidelines. Food is really well balance in terms of grain to vegg ratio. If you are a strict Macro this is where you need to go. Location is what is its downside - it is not the nearest of places to get to. However, it is definetely worth the effort and if you are a dedicated Macro you will make the journey there!
Suggest visiting Vatican in the morning and then going to the restaurant as per instructions above - then it wil not seem such a long journey

Pros: Macro macro....., delicious food, good sized portions

Cons: distance
