No good

The first time I got a scnitzel was nice and fresh. The second time I got it, it was definitely sitting there for a while, way too hard and cold. Everything was cold. As a paying and tipping customer this shouldn’t have happened. I will not be returning

A GREAT VEGAN FIND

The food is outstanding. I had shawarma in pita. You can get what you want on your sandwich. You will want to come back and try more things.

Pros: All Vegan!!, Pita, wraps and bowls , Lots to choose from

Cons: It is small, only 4 stools, Messy to eat

Sehr tolles Erlebnis!

Cons: צפוף בשוק מחנה יהודה

Words cannot describe this glory!

This is my favorite meal in Jerusalem! From the vegan shawarma to the dessert my tastes are always so excited to indulge in every bite. This is the only restaurant I frequently visit and am statistified beyond belief! Would give it more stars if I could. Make sure you are ready for a wait though because they are always packed with online orders.

Pros: Shawarma , Brownie. Knafeh. Halva, So much food I usually get two meals. (Bowl)

Soooo good!

The reviews here refer to the old location, which I admit was less than ideal. But the new location in the market is incredible! You can get a variety of substitutes for meat dishes, such as shawarma, schnitzel, burgers, etc., With a wide selection of salads and sauces. There are no other places in Jerusalem offering such a variety of vegan meat alternatives. And they taste incredible!

Wasn’t open

We visited the place on Friday morning and found the closed doors even though it’s mentioned both here and on their fb page that they’re open from 10 am. We stopped by again in the afternoon just to get the information that they serve food Sun-Thu, so for today the kitchen is closed.
The place itself looks like a tiny book store. Idk what about keeping it clean and what’s going on in the kitchen but it doesn’t look much encouraging.
The guy working there told us they gonna move to Mahane Yehuda shuk next months. Anyway I’d like to try to visit again cause there’s only one all vegan place left in Jerusalem (Mitz Marak) apart from hummus-falafel that you can find everywhere in Israel 😔

Pros: Wrong hours; doesn’t look like an actual cafe

Cons: 100% vegan and according to the fb page the food , is good 🤷🏽‍♀️

Do not bother going there

Does not look like in the pictures. For some reason full of books - we thought it was a bookstore. Seems very unhygienic, partly because every centimetre is covered in old books. There was a hair in my shawarma and it didn't taste good. Don't go there. It's weird and icky.

Cons: unhygienic , weird , not tasty

Weird, dirty, not really tasty

I have no idea what happened to this place, it definitely doesn't look like the pictures on here! We couldn't find it at first because it looks like an old book store. We went inside to ask if this is the shawarma place. The place looks as if they hadn't made any food in ages! You cannot sit inside because it's full of books. Before we could use the toilet they had to clean it. We ordered 2 shawarmas and 2 falafel pitas - all orders were made differently. The food wasn't really good, not bad either though. A woman came out of the store asking me if I believe in God... Everything just seemed strange at this place. I would never ever go back...

small, nice, but mediocre after all

the small place looks really nice, the service was super-friendly, and tried to help us even if their english wasn't perfect. even showed us a cheaper option (menu with drink).

the food was ok, but nothing special. the fries were bad (tasteless, no salt, soggy), the schnitzel a little boring, but the hot dog was good. they offered a variety of sauces, but the bottles were all crusted, didn't looked that appealing.

the food is all vegan, and pretty cheap.

Pros: fair prices, all vegan

Cons: food was mediocre at best, not that clean

Excellent!!

Really good food here. Great portions too. The kebabs were excellent and my kids loved the chicken nuggets. Fabulous find. A bit tricky to find if you can't read Hebrew, as it's sort of off to the side of the plaza. Don't give up looking!!! A bit slow with the food as it's a small operation, but worth waiting for!!!

LOVE IT

The food is always great; the staff is always really nice. The owner is an awesome guy as well, though he's not around as much nowadays. Love the burgers and the wraps, and last time we got this deep-fried seitan ("chicken nuggets" or something)--it was insane and addictive. Love how they bring you like 15 bottles of sauce to dress up your food however you like. It's not on the English menu, but there are some cool deals posted, like a bucket to share for--I think it's 60nis.

Don't be confused by the address: it's really just off Hillel, next to the little veg salad place at #23.

Pros: Delicious!, Reasonable prices

Amazing Schnitzelburger!

I had an amazing Schnitzelburger, and my hubby had a great lentil burger. Our guide had a really nice looking lentil salad. The onion rings were not good, but the "nuggets" we're phenomenal, even though they were strips instead of nuggets. There are only a handful of seats and it's not fancy but it's hip and the food is very fresh and made to order. As the only 100% vegan restaurant in Jerusalem, I give it 5 stars. If you're from out of town, it's a five minute walk from the best market in the city (although I don't remember it's Hebrew name.)

Great fast food!

I visited this restaurant three times (and had problems to find it the first time because the sign is only in Hebrew - look for the small "100% vegan" sheet in the window!). Maybe it doesn`t offer a great atmosphere (it`s better for takeaway), but it IS possible to sit and enjoy the food. The shawarma was a little bit salty, but a delicious experience - i wanted to try it for weeks. The schnitzel burger was great! I also tried a burger with a patty made of lentils (?) but i don`t remember the name anymore - it was delicious, too. The portions are massive - you should be very hungry or just take the other half of the burger with you! The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. Favourite place in Jerusalem!

Tasty vegan local-style food

We had the vegan shawarma and the lentil-based vegi-burgers. Very tasty, reasonably priced. A nice touch were the sauces (ketchup, tahini, amba (mango sauce) and chili sauce that we could take to the table). Despite being called "The Vegetarian Shawarma", the menu is actually all vegan.

Pros: Tasty food, Indoor and outdoor seating, Good location - just off Ben Yehuda St.

Cons: Small location, Service not the fastest (but not slow)

Yummy Vegan Fast Food in the Capital

FINALLY, there is a restaurant in Jerusalem which serves dishes with good meat substitutes in it!!!

As of July 1st 2014, I maintain this is the best place for veges to get food in Jerusalem. I've had almost the entire menu here. My favorite item is their "Jerusalem Mix" which is incredible. Although I'm a lifelong vegetarian, and have never tried the real thing, it tastes kind of like a middle Eastern version of Vege "Sausage N Pep", it is really good! The cheeseburgers are consistently delicious here. The "egg salad" sandwich was pleasant. The pizza is above average quality vegan pizza, and the chicken Nuggets appetizer is really good with their mustard Silan Dressing.

The only items I would not rrecommend are the Kebabs which tasted like mushy falafels made yesterday and ironically the Schwarma itself (at the vegetarian Schwarma) as I didn't think the flavor is strong enough.

My recommendation to this restaurant would be to start serving the Jerusalem mix in Baguettes, Laffas, Pitas, etc. Also I would recommend having more weekly or daily sales like they did when they just opened.

Overall, this is a vegan fast food joint with extremely limited seating (only a few bar stools inside and outside) and although you cant sit at a table, you paying similar prices to what you would pay at comparable Jlem meat places such as Burgers Bar. If you are looking for healthy vegetarian food this is certainly not the place for you, as with the exception of a few salads almost everything is fried.

That being said, the food is delicious, they make a real effort to always have new specials & Desserts.

No more bland patties at the Village Green. No more mushrooms in a bun at Burgers Bar. After years of not being able to go to a restaurant in Israel's Capital and order a vege substitute, there is now a place filled with vege comfort food goodness.

Bon Apetit. Or as we say in hebrew... B'Teyavon!

Pros: Tasty Fast Food, Kosher Certification, Great FB/Specials/Customer relations

Cons: Very limited Seating, Not open on Sat. Nights
