Good buffet & kind staff

The staff was very nice and although I came in near closing time I was still able to enjoy the buffet. Which is great value for money at 20 rmb.

Pros: value for money

Excellent tofu but otherwise disappointing

A buffet with a bunch of warm options, many of them tofu and mock meats. Surprisingly little green vegetables, but they did offer kabocha pumpkin ja roasted sweet potatoes. Tofu was excellent, but I didn't much care for some of the spices they used: the few veggies had a funny, fish-like taste. No juice bar - no juice at all, actually. The staff was indifferent. Stars are for the tofu. 20 yuan.

Rare Healthy Buffet

This small buffet restaurant charges 20 yuan for an all you can eat plate. Unlike most though it's pretty light on the greasy mock meats. They have around 6-8 cold starters which are usually seaweed or pickled veg. Great way to get some iodine if you are vegan.
On the hot selection they have the usual soups and rice with fried veg however there are usually some steamed or boiled items for the more health conscious. It's also one of the few places I have seen serving pulses as a standalone dish which is a nice bonus.

Pros: Good food, Healthy options

Cons: Busy, Lack of seating

Varied buffet

This place has about 20-30 different dishes, most cold. They don't speak English and you probably won't know what you're eating. Everything looked vegan, except for something with egg-looking texture and color. Taste was ok; not our favorite place in Dali.

If you arrive during closed hours, try the Japanese restaurant a few doors down.

Pros: Variety

Cons: Restricted hours, Don't speak English

Lovely Lotus Delicious Vegetarian, Dali

This place is great. I had the lunch time all you can eat buffet. 20 rmb for a great feed. My Chinese speaking co-diner asked and was told its all vegan other than one dish.

Pros: Vegan friendly, Great food, Great value

Great Veg Food

The lotus provides a invaluable service to Dali, offering buffets for both lunch and dinner. Go early as they work on the Chinese Buddhist timetable. Lunch finishes at about 1:30, dinner at around 8.

The buffet has a good range of hot dishes, cold dishes, soup, salads, and breads, and costs 20 yuan. Its great value for money in Dali.

If you dont mind spending a little extra, its also possible to order dishes from the menu. I highly recommend doing so, as the cooked to order dishes tend to be even better than the buffet.

Lovely delicious vegetarian buffet in Dali!

To our great surprise and pleasure we found this place as we were aimlessly wandering the streets of Old Town Dali. Just as other reviewers have stated they do indeed now do a buffet lunch and dinner! For ¥20! That's right all you can eat and drink for ¥20! I'm not sure where that is considered expensive but certainly not in Dali as many of the other restaurants has single dishes going for that price. We got there right around 5:30 for dinner and they let us start in without all the dishes being put out. There was a nice variety of spicy and non spicy veggie, noodle, and rice dishes. One dish had a fake meat sausage in it that was scary good. I would venture 16 different hot dishes plus another 10 or so cold dishes on the top level. Plus rice, soup, and bread choices for your mouth! Bonus: plum juice, so good! Also had pumpkin juice that I didn't not try. Left so full it was a little painful... but a good painful ya know? You self bus your dirty plates on the outside of the restaurant, near the entrance. Did I mention outside seating a nice quiet courtyard?

Pros: All you can eat!, Good tasting healthy feeling food!, Outside seating

Cons: Eating too much :p, Limited hours?

New buffet option!

Everyday at lunchtime (except Tuesdays-closed) they have a very good buffet from 11:30 to 13:30 for 18yuan/person.
The buffet has many different dishes and hot and cold options. Most of it is vegan except one or two dishes that have egg. They also do a fried rice with different ingredients that tastes very good (originally it had egg but not anymore).
Everything tastes very good.
Must go early around 11:30-12:00 or most of the food will be gone! On weekends it gets busy.

They have outside seating very comfortable for a sunny day.

In my opinion, much better buffet that the one on YiRanTang.

Pros: Very good buffet (lunch), Cheap buffet, comfortable outdoor seating

Cons: Must go early for the buffet, Dinner is expensive

Gourmet Food - Zen Vibe

I was by myself so couldn't sample many dishes. I had the sizzling tofu. Very nicely made. Thinly sliced in a delicate sauce with wood ear. Serving was quite large. Fresh orange juice was indeed fresh. Relaxing music, outdoor dining, very attentive waitress. The menu is beautiful. For those who know Dali, the place is on Bo Ai Lu, just North (maybe a few hundred meters) of the Yi Ran Tang vegetarian buffet near the intersection with Water Street.

Pros: gourmet quality food, great service, laid-back ambiance

Cons: a bit pricey for Dali
