One of 2 best South indian places.

Consistently good food at very good prices. The palak masala dosa is very good.

Pros: Menu clearly is marked which ones are dairy free.

Cons: Maybe the masala in the dosa is slightly lacking.

It’s nice

It’s a nice place to just sit down and enjoy a meal in peace, every table has their own cup and pitcher of water, it’s a brilliant idea😄and the whole menu has a number for each dish, even I forget the name of the dish I can still find out the number and find the dish that I ordered, also a brilliant idea😄

I think next time order just one is enough, two is too much

Very Enjoyable

I’m in New York (Long Island) fairly often to visit family and this a always a favorite place to eat. The buffet is a great value and food is tasty and plentiful but yesterday we ordered off of the regular menu for dinner and the food was even better. BTW we had great service and a very friendly waiter.

Cons: Can get crowded during buffet

Just Average

In an area filled with vegetarian Indian restaurants with lots of vegan options, I have to say they are not the top in any way.
I went there with the intention of having a dosa and they had an $8.99 lunch buffet that came with a dosa. The manager showed me what was vegan and even said let me check on one thing and went in the back and said it was not vegan. That adds points right there as he cared and double-checked.
I had an eggplant curry that had good flavor but the eggplant piece were really large and under-cooked. There was another dish with cabbage that was delicious and there was very little left and they did not have more. This one wanted me wanting more.
I had a masala dosa and it was at best okay. The dosa itself was overcooked and not very tasty and they potato filling was minimal and flavorless and contained peas. Not that there is an issue with peas, but not my choice to have them in a dosa.
Overall I am not sure I would go back with the other options in the area.

Pros: Attentive staff, Good deal

Cons: Food could be more flavorful

Tasty food, careless waiters.

The food was tasty and filling and unlike many ethnic restaurants, they serve it to you spiced the same way as they do to the many Indian patrons. However, unlike a comment above, I found them lax about vegan vs. vegetarian. The menu doesn't specify and it is possible to unknowingly order a dish with Indian cheese. In addition, on one visit for lunch I was told that one buffet chafing dish was vegan but it clearly had dairy which another employee later confirmed. Coming another time for dinner I asked for and was assured I'd get a vegan, combination thali plate altered so that it had no dairy. But it was served with raita.

In short, the food is quite tasty, and I'd definitely recommend it. But if you're vegan, you need to have some independent knowledge of what different Indian dishes contain.

Pros: Great variety, Richly spiced, Informal, inexpensive

Cons: Lax & careless over vegan vs. dairy, Informal diner-like decor

great

Good food, big quantities, reasonable prices. And they tell the truth about what's vegan and what's veggie-unlike House of Dosas which should be avoided.

Delicious Dosas!

When we lived in the city we drove to Hicksville to eat here. Now that we have a home in Hicksville we are here at least once a week. Very thoughtful, attentive staff will make sure your food is vegan and remember you the next time you drop in. The dosas are wonderful--great presentation and the chana masala with puri is awesome--though greasy--as it should be. We start with the very spicy rasam soup. I can't recommend this place enough. Is see the other review criticized the decor--it has been updated and it is a nice atmosphere.

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Excellent service, Beautiful decor

Cons: Sometime crowded
