Communication was quite difficult, I asked for a vegan banh mi with no butter and no cheese and got one with butter anyway... Luckily, I noticed it when I opened the banh mi to check what was inside and before I actually tried it so I could get back to the shop. There were some English speaking customers who explained them I didn't want butter and I got a new one.

Bog standard Banh Mi - Edit
Nothing too special here. Just an okay Banh mi for a decent price. Just make sure you ask for no mayo, as mayo goes in the chay Banh Mi by default.

Forgot to ask for no butter but that’s my fault. Very tasty though, the sauce was delicious and it had some kind of fruit in it as well which was a nice change and really delicious.

Ordered both banh mi and banh beo. First thing the shopkeeper did was butter my roll. It may have been margarine but as he didn't speak English and I didn't want to take the chance, so I gestured for one without butter. Filling was good, lots of mushrooms. Banh bao was nice too.

Quick, cheap eats near backpacker area - Edit
Great location if you are staying in the backpacker area, but be careful because some of the buildings have the same number, so it might be confusing to find. Anpham is almost just opposite Zeus greek takeout place and Espy pizza place.
Read moreIt's pretty no fuss, simple, takeout food. The banh mi and banh bao are pretty good and inexpensive and fills a hole. Quick snack type food perfect to take with you on the bus if you are heading out for a tour somewhere.
