Oranges and Lemons
I have been given a HUGE bag of Oranges and Lemons and I'm wondering what to do with them all. Besides slicing 'em and freezing 'em or putting them in gin and tonic I'm at a loss.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I was thinking about Lemon curd but I don't eat eggs.

You could make marmalade!

I love putting oranges in stir fry type dishes.
Do you have a juicer?
-
No I don't have a juicer, mine broke and I've not gotten round to buying a new one. I would have been happy with fresh juice too.
Marmalade's a good idea - I guess you just use less sugar if not using Seville Oranges would that be right?
*goes off to google

In a large drinking glass, squeeze in the juice of 1/2 orange and 1 lemon.
Then fill glass with filtered water, and add agave (or sweetener of choice).
Voila: lemonade for one!

Make lemon bars with some of them! Also lemon/blueberry muffins!

Oooooohhhhhhh muffins.................

I made oatmeal cookies with the oranges. I use a microplane grater or zester and use the zest of the orange instead of vanilla.
OMG - they are amazing!

Sounds yummy! Know what would be good? Instead of oatmeal raisin, making oatmeal cranberry cookies. Cranberries are fabulous with orange!

Oranges can be used for Orange-Bulgar Vegetarian Casserole. My mom made this for me growing up and it's fantastic. Great way to use fresh oranges when in season. You can search Google for the recipe.

treehugger:
I know that I am a wee late for this topic, but I have got to tell you this. Take two of the lemons and juice them. Then two or three Granny Smith apples, and juice them. Mix them together and you will have some of the best lemonade on the face of the planet. Not only does it taste great, but there is nothing in it but fresh fruit juice. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. If you have a mind to it also makes a great mixer. But I am not much of a drinker. My pals who do say it is great with Captain Morgan Spice Rum.
Cheers.
