A suggestion for Happy Cow
Sernicki gave me this idea, though he doesn't realise it (see Ser - I do pay attention)
How about having a directory of Vegan trades people?
Vegan plumbers, electricians, caterers that sort of thing.
It would have to be broken down into categories for countries and states like the current directory for restaurants and health food shops is.
Whaddya reckon?

Hi treehugger,
Sorry for the very late response. That kinda directory sounds cool, only we're already tight on time here. If you would like to start something like that we might work with you, otherwise, can't see taking on more work.
However, we do already have have a world-wide guide for catering... guessing didn't you find it?
http://www.happycow.net/vegetarian_catering_directory.html
From the main menu above select: "Shop", then "Marketplace", then click on the Catering Guide.
Thanks, Webmaster

vegan plumbers and electricians? No wonder people that aren't vegetarians/vegans find us weird.

Auungbong is funny... I get it!
But really, a directory for all kinds of Vegan or Vegetarian Trade Professionals, etc... would need a whole another website of its own.
Why doesn't someone who knows web design build one?

I did hear of something like that recently. I'll try to find out about it and I will post it here, if Webmaster permits. I dont think it was local, but rather regional or national, but I didnt check it out when I heard about it. If I find it I will at least pm you.

Does anyone have the Veg Times issue that Happy Cow was named one of a veg person's great resources? I think it was listed in that issue. Also named near it was Sweet Pea Bakery, my fave bakery anywhere (Portland).

Oh dear...have I bitten off more than I can chew??
Maybe I'll look into doing this in the future then if there's enough people who think it's a good idea.
Or is it a totally stupid idea???

I think a website that would help us in locating and supporting other veg folks is a great idea! :-)
