AWESOME!
I mean, in our perfect world it would be down 100 percent,
but progress is progress, and it means a difference is being made.
Good job to all you fellow vegans out there who have chosen the most compassionate way of eliminating animal cruelty and carbon foot prints from out environment:)
Not to discount the vegetarians, who also make a huge impact with their choice of diet and strife towards compassionate living:)

I am vegan so for me this is good news but I can't help but to be a lil pessimistic and think that maybe it is more due to the economy than us vegans and vegetarians:( But I hope I am wrong and that even when the economy continues to get better the number will continue to decline:)

If Financial Tsunami's reduce cow & other animal killing then I am all for them!
...... I have a bunch of veggie friends - they all have a bunch of other veggie friends - they all have.........
I strongly suspect the the published "Veggie Stat's" are heavily underestimating the number of folk who are now totally "off" of meat& hopefully moving towards eating only plants!

This is excellent news! I just hope the percentage keeps getting higher in years to come.
