I think he was a veg for a short period.

His eating plan is just as straightforward. "I used to be a vegetarian, but now I eat chicken. I eat turkey. I'm not a great cook, but I do it well enough not to starve."

Some of the St. Lunatics are vegetarians as well. As reported by World News Enternintment Network via TeenHollywood.com, Nelly would bring fellow recording artist/actress Ashanti his veggie cuisine on the set of their movie Coach Carter. A source says, "Nelly would bring her (Ashanti) organic vegetarian meals all the time because she didn't like the commissary food."
