John Robbins is a vegan activist and writer

John Robbins was heir to the Baskin Robbins ice cream empire, but he refused to partake in the family business. He saw that members of his family, who indulged in ice cream eating, died of heart failures and artery clogs.

Robbins became a vegetarian in his free-thinking adult years, and now avidly advocates a plant-based diet. He has help founded Earth Save International, an environmental advocacy organization.

Robbins has also written books including Diet for a New America. He is married, has children, and resides in Northern California.
