Allen Ginsberg was a vegetarian Beat poet and writer

Irwin Allen Ginsberg was a famous American poet. One of his more known work was "Howl," a poem celebrating his friends of the Beat Generation.

Ginsberg was borned to a Jewish family and later in life found interest in Tibetan Buddhism. He lived in San Francisco for many years with Peter Orlovsky, his life-long lover. They were active in free speech, gay rights, and justice.

I listened to an old recording when allen was not yet vegetarian. It seems that it was the hare krishnas that inspired him to go veg :)
