Eating vegetarian in Denmark can be difficult, considering that there are very few pure vegetarian restaurants.While the restaurants that do offer a couple veggie options, the food commonly contain dairy and/or egg, so vegans take note. Generally, good whole grain bread is easy to find as are veggie sandwiches from fast food sandwich shops. In the major destinations like the capital city, Copenhagen, vegetarian travelers will be able to find a few good veg-friendly restaurants.
Good news for health - In August 2007, Denmark passed a law banning cigarette smoking inside all restaurants. Smokers can smoke out on the patio, and diners can now enjoy smoke-free environment inside.
